International expansion is going to be vital to the growth of the cable and network TV business over the next several years, according to Daisy Whitneys New Media Minute report from the NATPE conference in Las Vegas. She interviewed Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav who talked about the opportunities in markets like India, Russia and Romania and explained why TV companies should focus resources there. Also in this weeks episode, Daisy speaks to the digital head at top-rated cable network USA about how to best extend a TV show onto the Web.

Hi Daisy,
I agree with your view that international reach is the way of the future for television and web programming.
I have a start up show called the “Garden World Report,” a weekly online garden TV talk show that is a”trendsetter” in online garden media.
What makes it special is that I feature virtual correspondents from all over the world. I get video reports from Bangladesh, Australia, England, Canada, Singapore and more!
My audience is growing in leaps and bounds during the last 12 weeks since launching. The USA is my number one audience followed by India, Australia, Canada, Philippines and others.
The purpose of my show is to garner an international audience and unite them under the niche interest of gardening!
Doing great and now entertaining sponsors. Please check it out if you have a moment:

Love your work Daisy- (and your name of course!).
