The author Fiona Robyn is going to blog her next novel Thaw starting on March 1, 2010. The novel follows 32-year-old Ruth’s diary over three months as she decides whether or not to carry on living. To help spread the word about the novel, Fiona is organising a Blogsplash, where blogs will publish the first page of Ruth’s diary simultaneously.
Because I believe thoroughly in testing and trialling new ways of promotion and marketing for books, I’ll be participating in her Blogsplash. She’s aiming to get 1000 blogs involved. If you’d be interested in joining in, email her or find out more information on her site.
And I just love her cover!

I am excited to see this groundbreaking project begin. I applaud Fiona’s courage in taking this innovative step in marketing her book. However, more importantly for me, I am hoping to see this as a way to get more people READING! It may be non-traditional, or unconventional but literature is literature, whatever the format.
Bravo Ms. Robyn!
Thanks for the comment at my blog (re: my post I am talking to my son about his homework as I write this). Simultaneous posting is an interesting idea. I am going to check out Fiona Robyn’s site. I find the cover intriguing. And it seems in contrast to Thaw’s description. Almost whimsical. It makes it more intriguing.
I’ve never heard of this marketing technique! Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
It is so cool that the author is doing this. I’m ver intrigued by the whole idea of blogging your novel. Very, very interesting.
