Really good post. It’s an interesting idea. I am a true fan of several authors and musicians going by this definition. It would be an incredible feeling to be on the other side of the equation.

It is like direct marketing, good point, but with the fans.

And you soon will have your own 1000+ true fans.

I love this post. I am a true fan of a few authors, the amazing Elizabeth Scott included, and you’re so right. Even a small connection, can turn a fan, into a true fan.

I really like this idea. It makes the act of writing seem so much more romantic. It would be great to sell a million books and have people enjoy them when they read them. But the idea that you are really changing 1000 peoples lives in a meaningful way is a truly great idea. Thanks for the post.

Interesting post! And how does one maintain meaningful “direct contact,” I wonder? Of course it can be through blogging, giving interviews, Twittering, and doing tours–but I wonder are there even more creative, engaging ways people are doing this? Fan clubs with sneak peeks? I’ve read this post, but I loved it! Now, I must start working on my 1000 fans.

Though, it would probably be easier to have fans if I actually finished my book. Hmmm… yes. I will get right on that! : )
